The Forget Me Not flower has long been a symbol of remembrance and love. Its delicate blue petals remind us to cherish our memories and the people we hold dear. This project has an added layer of significance as it was originally designed for an Alzheimer’s disease fundraising event last year. The Forget Me Not represents the importance of remembering and honoring those affected by this condition.

What You’ll Need

Before we get started, let’s gather our materials. You’ll need:

• Paper Flower Template in SVG format for your Cricut or Cameo Silhouette Cutting machines

• Cardstock

  • Options for the Petals:

    • Shades of Purple

    •  Blue Cardstock:  

  • Other Colors:

    • Yellow (Center 1)

    • White Shimmer (Center 2)

• Floral Tape 

• Floral wire

• Styro foam

• Clay Pot

• Pea gravel

• Twine (For the bundled-up version)

• White Glue

• Glue sticks

Tools:

• Hot glue gun

• Long nose plier 

• Scissors

• Cricut

• Cutter

1. Prepare Your Paper: Begin by selecting your blue and yellow paper. These colors will help your Forget Me Not stand out with its vibrant, recognizable look.

2. Cut: Cut the template using your cutting machine

3. Assemble the Flower: Once you have all your pieces, it’s time to assemble.

The design turned out great! I decided to try selling these paper Forget Me Nots at artisan markets, and they have become a bestseller. I sell each pot for $17, which is on the cheaper side compared to my other paper flowers in clay pots. Typically, the average price for my paper flowers with interchangeable wooden stakes or signs is $25. The more affordable price point of the Forget Me Not pots has contributed to their popularity and high sales.
